Profile

  • Don Olymbrio made his debut in international Grand Prix in 2017 under Daniel Bachmann Andersen and through 2018, despite the stallion's young age, it became several major international competitions.

  • In 2019, Don Olymbrio crossed the magical 80% at both World Cup Amsterdam, Herning Horseshow, World Cup 's-Hertogenbosch, the five-star CHIO competition in Aachen and at World Cup Herning, where it turned into a double victory. This culminated in an impressive 11th place on the FEI's world rankings in dressage in 2019.

  • Don Olymbrio made his competition debut in 2021 as Nanna Skodborg Merrald's dressage partner, where the pair won the three-starred CDI Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at the Blue Hors Dressage Festival in Randbøl.

Pedigree Performance

  • Don Olymbrio carries  the very best Dutch bloodlines, which shines through with his beautiful expression and his impressive gaits, something that made a big impression already when he was a 3 year old stallion.

  • Don O's talent for the difficult exercises is not inherited from strangers - both his sire Jazz, and grand sire, Ferro, have competed at the highest level, representing the Netherlands at the World Championships in dressage. Sire Jazz dominated the WBFSH-ranking for dressage sires for many years. Jazz is probably the most influential Dutch breeding stallion of the past 25-30 years. He has sired a large number of licensed sons and elite mares, but the number of horses in the topsport is what makes him particularly valuable in the breeding of riding horses. These offspring includes horses as Olympic participant Parzival (ridden Adelinde Cornelissen, Nartan (ridden by Jeannette Haazen) and the winner of WBCYH for 6-year-olds in 2010, Westpoint - all Jazz-offspring who have proven their father's worth as breeding stallion

  • Don Olymbrio's grandfather, the Performance Test-winner Ferro, was a stallion of good character and a powerful hind leg movement. Grand sire Ferro and his rider Coby van Baalen won team silver at the Olympic Games in 2000 and Ferro has founded his own stallion-line in the Netherlands, which has given the world stallions like Rousseau, Metall, Rhodium and Special D. Like Jazz, Ferro has produced many successful dressage horses. His offspring are characterized by a convincing ability to collect, which is a very important quality for a dressage horse. It is i.a. these famous sons and Ferro's 11 KWPN approved grandsons who have contributed to his title as "Preferent", which is one of the finest predicates a Dutch breeding stallion can achieve!
  • Don Olymbrio originates from one of the most successful Dutch dam lines (Family 145), which has also given the Rubinstein-son OO Seven and Edward Gal's Grand Prix horse Voice, which has taken several Grand Prix victories and placings. Among other victories, the pair won the 2015 World Cup qualifier. Furthermore, the Grand Prix horses Celiton, Kadans and Olympic Babria, winner of the team silver at the Olympic Games in Atlanta 1996 with Tineke Bartels, also originate from this line. The great grand dam Ezabria won the Dutch Championships as a 3-year-old.

Characteristics

  • It's no secret that Don Olymbrio lacks a few inches all the way around to be optimal in format, and the mare owners have been adept at taking that into account. They have seen that Don Olymbrio is best suited for tall and large-framed mares. This is where he does his very best and can pass on a more modern type, expression and dynamic to the offspring's movement.

    - His offspring are well-off and durable horses. They are cooperative like himself, and they want to work, says Martin Klavsen.

In terms of pedigree, he fits a very broad amount of mares and matches very well the bigger and heavier dressage mares of classic German bloodlines, which are strongly represented in Denmark. These can be, for example, mares sired by Blue Hors Hotline, Blue Hors Don Romantic, Fidermark, Solos Landtinus, etc.

Offspring

  • In 2016, Don Olymbrio was named elite stallion in Danish Warmblood at the age of 9 on the basis of his own sports and breeding results.

  • He is the father of several approved stallions both at home in Denmark and abroad, including the Premium Stallions UNO Don Olympic, Blue Hors Dreamline, D’Olympus and sons, the full-brothers, Orion and Olympus.

  • In addition, he is the father of many high-quality medal mares as well as the daughter Silhuet, who competes in international dressage classes with the Danish young rider Cecilie Hedegaard.

  • For eight years he has delivered foals that do extremely well at foal shows and foal auctions. At the Danish Warmblood Elite Show in 2018, the Don Olymbrio-daughter Remember Me was named Filly of the Year and was sold at the elite foal auction to an international Grand Prix rider for € 80,000.

  • Many offspring have made a strong impression in the young horse championships and several offspring of the oldest age groups have established themselves well in the sport. Among other, Anna Zibrandtsen's Premium Stallion UNO Don Olympic, who has represented Denmark at WBCYH 2019 in Ermelo as a finalist for 7-year-olds, just as he became no. 3 at the Danish Riding Federation's championship finals the same year.

  • Don Olymbrio's son Blue Hors Touch of Olympic L (ridden by Nanna Skodborg Merrald) has also done his part by excelling in his selection for the COVID-19-canceled WBCYH for 6-year-olds in 2020 - and also in the year 2021 with him wining a silver medal at the WBCYH for 7-year-old dressage horses.
