Day 2 of the Dressage Festival with a double win for Nanna S. Merrald

A terrific start to the national and international competition at the Blue Hors Dressage Festival for the Blue Hors riders. Especially Nanna S. Merrald and Cristian T. Ruiz made a name for themselves today
Day 2 of the Dressage Festival with a double win for Nanna S. Merrald

Debut win in CDI3* Grand Prix

In a star-studded class that featured top riders like German Matthias Rath on the red Destacado FRH, Swedish Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson on Amplemento, Olympic and European Championship pair Charlotte Heering and Bufranco, Anna Kasprzak on Rock Star 13 and Addict de Massa, Australian Lyndal Oatley at Elvive and the newly crowned Norwegian champion in dressage; Anniken Hals on her top horse, the former Blue Hors sales horse; Centano, Nanna Skodbord Merrald had lots of competitors for the position as number 1, when she rode in at 07:16pm in her very first competition on Blue Hors Don Olymbrio.

Blue Hors Don Olymbrio

It was a long-awaited comeback from the breeding stallion Blue Hors Don Olymbrio (by Jazz / Ferro), who is now paired with Nanna Skodborg Merrald – and what a couple!

With 75.217% and a completely unanimous panel of judges, Nanna came in first with a difference of almost 4 percent down to number 2; who was the Olympic participant Anna Kasprzak on Rock Star 13. But Nanna and Don Os’ passage / piaff program was really in a class of its own, and therefore they were to be found alone in the top of the Grand Prix.

Zatchmo takes the win in the national Grand Prix

Between 4pm and 6pm, the Blue Hors riders rode in the national Grand Prix class. At 4:57pm Nanna Skodborg Merrald was the first of our “own” to ride, this time on Blue Hors Zatchmo (by Blue Hors Zack). The next rider from Blue Hors came in at 5:15pm and was our Spaniard Cristian Tudela Ruiz who rode on Blue Hors Zepter (by Blue Hors Zack / Wolkentanz II, breeder: Bernhard Sieverding).

Blue Hors Zatchmo

As number 1 and winner of the class, Nanna did well on Zatchmo with 76.733%. A score that was more than enough to secure the victory.

As a nice number two, Cristian and Zepter snuck into second place after a well-executed, safe and balanced program that resulted a nice score of 71,900%

MB2 with sales horse Hoby Utopia and a dash of Blue Hors Talent

In today’s MB2, both Cristian Tudela Ruiz on Blue Hors Dillon (by Duisenburg / Samarant, breeder: Gabriele Becker-Hermann) and Blue Hors Talent rider Cecilie Dybro Jensen on Hoby Utopia (by Chippendale / Métall, breeder: CWA Van Stokkom) were to find.

Here, Cristian and Dillon became number 5 with 71.448%, while Cecilie and Hoby were in a nice eighth place with 70.066%!
